Artist

Anya Baguina is a bespoke film portrait artist based in London. Born in St. Petersburg, Russia, she received a classic art education working with traditional still life and portrait painting.

“My first education taught me all the main principles of composition developed in the past centuries by classic artists. The ability to paint or draw a portrait enabled me to understand the structure of facial features and human bodies, knowledge that I extensively apply in portrait photography.”

Her love of film photography started with an extracurricular activity. Anya quickly switched to medium format cameras and has been photographing and experimenting with the medium for the past 12 years.

When she relocated to London, Anya enriched her art education with courses at Central St. Martins and obtained the National Certificate in Fine Art from Kensington and Chelsea college.
